ABOUT ANNA YAN

These works are an attempt to showcase and highlight women in Chinese culture using Western painting techniques. As a woman, I see the world from a woman's viewpoint, and hope to catch some of the variety of women's experiences in the different ages throughout history in these highly impressionistic works. My goal has been to express the various moods and thoughts of women through the ages, and hopefully help to allow Chinese women to smash the shackles imposed on them by ancient customs.
