ABOUT CARRIE PADGETT

Life is full of so many interesting things and I want a little piece of all of them. I recently graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design with a BFA in Painting, which was nothing like I expected, but I love how everything turned out. After riding the art waves in Savannah for a while, I found it was time to move on to something a bit bigger, so I am now kicking it in Atlanta and loving every minute of it. While hopping onto Atlanta's bustling art scene, I am also attending Atlanta School of Massage. During massage school, I am creating paintings based on anatomy and incorporating movements of massage strokes. As with everything in life, I like to explore and try new things often within the realm of painting. I have a love for both non-objective work that is firmly rooted in color theory and non-traditional representation of the human figure. My work varies in style because of my tendency to explore and jump into new things and switch from non-objective to representational and I hope to combine these opposing elements in my upcoming paintings.
