ABOUT JAMES DARDEN

James Darden is an artist based in Atlanta, Georgia. He went to college in Birmingham, Alabama while he also studied with an oil painting mentor for two years, developing an understanding of the language of art. James moved after his studies, living in Virginia Beach and Portland before settling in Atlanta. While doing his understudy he was trained in the traditional methods of oil painting, which shaped his style and creative approach.

Always being influenced by the baroque and romanticism painters, James continues to explore contemporary materials and methods. Using his own photographs and experiences in the city, James brings these snippets and excitement for urban living to the canvas. At home in his Atlanta studio, James devotes his time to running a self-supportive studio as his full time passion.
