ABOUT KATHLEEN BOSELL

I paint each piece as it feels to me like it should be presented. My hope is that my works bring pleasure to the viewers... art is a pleasure both in the creation and in the viewing.

A JACK INTERVIEW WITH KATHLEEN BOSELL

What was your first experience with art?

I think I sat in class and drew rather than taking notes or working on my math problems!

What is your favorite medium & why?

I love the fast drying properties of acrylics, the fluidity of watercolors, the textures of pastels and the fleshiness of oils. They are all great in their own way with their own presentation uses. Acrylics are the ‘easiest.'

What style are you most drawn to? Does it ever change & if so, why?

I paint according to how I see something so I might feel the subject needs to be presented in a realistic or an impressionist style. It might be on canvas or paper, just according to how the subject makes me feel and how I want to present it. Inspiration first and then the medium.

Do you have a favorite piece you've done?

I don’t think I can answer that as I’ve lived in too many places and have painted literally hundreds of pieces. There are certain pieces that come to mind but I couldn’t say any one is my all time favorite.

Can you draw a perfect circle freehand?

Probably some days, but other days not. But my special skills are fairly well developed.
