ABOUT LINDSEY MILLER

I've always been creative. I love to work with my hands and make things, experiment and create. I build, I paint, I write, I cook, I film and I photograph. I received my first film camera as a college graduation present six years ago. I barely knew how to turn it on. But after a handful of photography classes, hundreds of questions to other photographers and countless acts of trial and error, I finally understand the concept of capturing light.

I don't have a favorite camera, nor a favorite lens or film. I shoot with what ever I have at the time, whether it is my DSLR set up, a toy camera, my Dad's old Pentax or my camera phone. Any camera that will capture what I am seeing at the moment will suffice. Some of my favorite images are shot 'off-the-hip' and are pure surprise, nothing planned.

I live for traveling to new places and capturing fragments of the scene, revealing something that most people may have never seen or thought to look for. My aim is for my images to be pieces of the whole, a small portion of the big picture, an otherwise unseen slice of life. I like to show others how I see the world, through my eyes, through my lens. I am a visual artist and my photography is my art.
