ABOUT LYNN BLAND

Creating artwork makes me believe in myself. I use not only what I see to inspire my art, but also all of my senses and feelings. Every piece of artwork comes from within and each one teaches me something about myself. I have a busy life full of deadlines; art is my freedom; it has no boundaries or limits. It gives me a sense of wholeness.

Lynn received her BA in art and constructive design from FSU. Her primary focus is mixed media and her work has been exhibited in numerous juried shows in the Southeast. Signatures: The Art Journal Collection and Material Visions are two of the many publications in which she has been included. She also writes technique-based articles for Sew Somerset, a book published quarterly. She is represented by the J. Alan Gallery in Gatlinburg, TN and Twigs and Leaves in Waynesville, NC. More recently, she serves on the advisory board for Art Quilt Studio Magazine. She lives in the Smoky Mountains in Gatlinburg, TN.
